ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Three members of the University of New Mexico football team spent over an hour Thursday at North Star Elementary. Lobo defensive coordinator Darrell Dickey along with kickers James Aho and Garrett Hentrup spoke to the Fitness Club about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. The Fitness Club is a weekly program at North Star Elementary ran by Kara Siegel that focuses on being active and getting plenty of exercise.

The Fitness Club started off with a short introduction period and some helpful tips for the students. Coach Dickey spoke about eating a proper diet and being active. The Lobos encouraged the elementary students to get involved in athletics and find ways to stay in shape. Aho and Hentrup talked about fighting through adversity and never giving up on dreams.

Dickey and the Lobo players demonstrated how to kick field goals and proceeded to play games with the students.

Lobo football will host patients from the UNM Cancer Center this Saturday, and will team up with Habitat for Humanity next Saturday in Albuquerque.
