COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.— New Mexico’s Aubrey Bush and Wyoming’s Stephanie Ortiz are Co-Divers of the Week. It is the first weekly honor for Bush as a Lobo and the first for a New Mexico diver since former diver Carrie Quinn earned the honor Dec. 13, 2007.
Bush, who hails from Franktown, Colo., secured a first-place mark of 256.25 on the platform tower at the Air Force Diving Invitational. Bush’s score, which surpassed her previous personal best by 19 points, ranks first in the MWC this season. The sophomore also competed on the 3-meter springboard, earning a final score of 273.15 to place third.
Ortiz, a product of Colorado Springs, Colo., posted a zone qualifying score on the 1-meter springboard at the Air Force Diving Invitational. The senior tallied 275.65 points to capture first place in the event. Ortiz also placed second on the 3-meter board with a mark of 273.25.
