UPDATE – University of New Mexico head coach Mike Locksley will be the special guest at Lobo Talk on Thursday night at Kelly’s Brew Pub in Nob Hill. Locksley will discuss the 2009 Lobo football signing class from 7-8 p.m., which will be broadcast live on 770 KKOB-AM. Men’s basketball head coach Steve Alford will follow from 8-9 p.m. Lobo Talk is free to the public each Thursday.

The special signing day recap Lobo Talk show will give fans a chance to learn all about one of the most highly anticipated recruiting classes in the program’s recent history. A highlight video featuring the 2009 signing class will also be playing throughout the evening.

GoLobos.com will be your official source for signing day news and updates on Wednesday with senior writer Richard Stevens and assistant media relations director Alfredo Moreno heading up the coverage all day from the athletics facilities at UNM’s South Campus.

Locksley will announce the class of 2009 in a press conference on Wednesday afternoon and will also appear at 5 p.m. on The Sports Bar with Erik Gee on 610 AM The Sports Animal.

Recruiting coordinator and wide receivers coach J.B. Gerald will talk about the signing class and take calls from 8-9 p.m. in a live studio appearance on SportsTalk with Scott Stiegler on 770 KKOB-AM.

After being announced as the 29th head football coach at UNM on Dec. 9, 2008, Locksley hit the ground running to assemble his first signing class at New Mexico. Already known as one of the nation’s finest recruiters, Locksley and his diverse coaching staff have had prospects from coast-to-coast taking a serious look at Lobo football.

Locksley was listed among the top-20 recruiters in the nation by Sports Illustrated and was named a top-25 recruiter by Rivals.com while at Illinois. While serving as the recruiting coordinator at Florida in 2003, he helped the Gators assemble the seventh-best class in the country according to Rivals.com. He also served as the recruiting coordinator at Maryland prior to his stint in Gainseville.
