Feb. 20, 2008
University of New Mexico student-athletes will participate in the Mountain West Conference Blood Drive Tuesday, Feb. 26, in the Student Union ballrooms from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The Mountain West Conference Blood Drive is a conference-wide community service project. Each Mountain West Conference institution works with its local blood service center to designate one day during January or February to conduct a campus-wide blood drive.
Student groups, faculty, staff and alumni are encouraged to participate.
The contact at the local blood center will submit a report to the Mountain West Conference that includes the following information: attempted donors/presenters, productive units, deferrals and incomplete donations.
The institution that collects the most pints of blood (i.e. productive units) will be declared the winner. An award will be presented to the winning school’s director of athletics during next month’s Mountain West Conference Basketball Championships in Las Vegas.
