The University of New Mexico ski team spent Monday evening at the Governor’s Mansion in Santa Fe, N.M.. The Lobos were entertained at a reception by New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson. Head coach George Brooks received a certificate from the Governor for his 37 years at the helm of the Lobo Ski Team.
The Lobos were acknowledged by Governor Richardson for their academic and athletic accomplishments in the 2006-07 season. New Mexico tied for sixth at the NCAA Championships while freshman Malin Hemmingson won the women’s NCAA Slalom title. Nine Lobo skiers also earned Academic All-NCAA honors last season.
