Tucson, Ariz. – The No. 49 University of New Mexico Lobos took a loss from the No. 42 Arizona Wildcats today at the University of Arizona in a 5-2 dual match. The Lobos now have a 5-2 record on their season as they prepare to take on the 47th ranked Tulsa Golden Hurricanes in a Sunday match at 10:00 a.m.

New Mexico continues to struggle at the doubles position as they try to find a new balance in tandems. Arizona won the doubles point on the day and all three doubles matches.

In singles action the team came out ready to play and with the first win going to the Lobos it looked to be hopeful. Sophomore Mackenzie White defeated Arizona’s Natalia Toporowska in a 6-2, 6-2 match to start off what the hoped to be a New Mexico rally, however it wasn’t enough and the only other win came at the No. 4 position where junior Lucy Scott took the match in a 2-6, 6-4, 6-3 win.

The Lobos look to tomorrow for a win where they match up against No. 47 Tulsa before they head home for another set of home matches.
