HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. – The University of New Mexico men’s golf team went 1-1 at the first Day of the Hooters Collegiate Match Play Championships. The Lobos, the 11th seed in the 16-team event, lost their opening round match 3-2 to sixth seeded Arizona State, but won their match on the consolation side 3-2 over 14th seeded Missouri. The event is being played on the par-72, 6,974 yard Mission Inn Golf and Tennis Resort El Campeon Course in Howey-in-the-Hills, Florida.
