Five members of the University of New Mexico men’s soccer team were named 2004 Academic All-District VI today by the Collegiate Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA). Senior Eric Carlson and juniors Ben Ashwill, Erik Bagwell, Jeff Rowland and Matt Wootton were all honored for their work in the classroom and on the playing field.
Carlson, Ashwill, Rowland and Wootton were all honored for the second straight year, while Bagwell earned his first Academic All-District honor. In order to qualify for CoSIDA academic recognition each student-athletes must carry at least a 3.20 grade-point-average, participate in at least 50% their team’s competition and have completed one full year at their current institution.
