CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – They battled until the very end, but it was’t enough as seniors David Kowalski and Ryan Stotland came up just short of the title at the ICY HOT/ITA All-American Championships in Chattanooga, Tenn. today. The duo, ranked 24th nationally, fell 9-7 to 34th-ranked Scott Green and Ross Wilson of Ohio State.
Kowalski and Stotland were the first Lobos to ever make it to a national tournament finals match. They worked their way there, winning seven consecutive matches including three straight against top-20 teams.
The tandem’s performance has earned them an automatic bid to the ITA National Individual Indoor Championships held Nov. 4-7. There next competition will be at the ITA Fall Mountain Regional, Oct. 20-24, in Las Vegas, Nev.
