Lobo Softball Announces Plans of Fourth Annual Golf Tournament

    New Mexico softball has announced the date of its 2008 Lobo Softball Golf Tournament presented by Albuquerque Land Rover at the Sandia Resort and Casino Golf Course. UNM will host the event on Sept. 12 and it will be open to the public. Join current softball supporters, players and coaches at event for an afternoon of fun at one of the premiere golf courses in the state.

    Katie Gilmore Named All-Mountain West Conference

    New Mexico sophomore Katie Gilmore was named All-Mountain West Conference today by the league office. Gilmore is the only UNM player on the 20-member softball all-conference team after leading the league in hitting during conference play. Gilmore dominated the league with a .418 average and earns her first All-MWC honor.

    UNM Softball Drops Season Finale To BYU, 8-4

    New Mexico softball fell to BYU, 8-4, Saturday night in the regular-season finale held at Lobo Field. The Lobos pounded out nine hits and scored four runs but could not overcome a late rally by the Cougars. Senior Lindsey Elcess highlighted the game for UNM going 2-for-4 with an RBI. New Mexico fell to 25-26 overall and 7-13 in the Mountain West Conference. BYU moved to 42-18 and 14-6 in league play.

    Lobo Softball Falls To BYU, 4-0

    New Mexico softball was no-hit Friday night by BYU and dropped a 4-0 decision to the Cougars. BYU freshman Paige Affleck threw a complete game no-hitter against the Lobos and improved to 14-3 on the season. The Lobos slipped to 25-25 on the year and 7-12 in the Mountain West Conference. BYU remains in the hunt for a conference championship with the win and moved to 41-18 overall. The Cougars are now 13-6 in MWC action.
