New Mexico Volleyball Inks Arizona Transfer Inclan

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico volleyball team and head coach Jeff Nelson have announced that Jaclyn Inclan, who played last year at Arizona, will transfer to New Mexico and compete for the Lobos.

Inclan, a sophomore-to-be from Tucson, Arizona, will be eligible to play for New Mexico in the fall. She competed in both indoor and beach volleyball for the Wildcats and will potentially compete in both sports for the Lobos.

“We are really happy to have Jaclyn joining our program,” Nelson said. “She brings solid experience and is an outstanding athlete. This will really solidify our team for this fall with so many returners. I am really excited to get to work with her and all of our student-athletes.”

New Mexico, which graduated just one player from its 2017 indoor team, welcomes Iclan as she joins the team’s deep sophomore class.

While at Arizona, Inclan saw action in eight matches with the Wildcats’ beach volleyball team. She posted a 7-1 record playing as part of the exhibition pair.

She was also part of the indoor team for a few months in the fall of 2017, before turning her full attention to beach. She did not see any action as a part of the indoor team.

At Ironwood Ridge High School in Oro Valley, Arizona, Inclan guided her team to the semifinals of the Division 5A state tournament and earned first-team Division 5A honors.

Inclan joins incoming freshman Sabrina Bianco from Austin, Texas, as part of New Mexico’s signing class for the indoor team. The Lobos open their 2018 season on August 24-25 at the Idaho Volleyball Classic in Moscow, Idaho.
