Lobo Club Hosts Successful Golf Tournament

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The UNM Lobo Club hosted its annual Lobo Club Golf Tournament last Friday, June 22, at Santa Ana Golf Club. This year’s event played host to over 120 players combined with UNM Athletic Staff, UNM Coaches, and former UNM student-athletes.
 
The golf tournament is always one of the Lobo Club’s signature events each year. It raises money that directly benefits the Lobo Scholarship Fund, which funds over 450 student-athlete scholarships here at the University of New Mexico. The 2018 tournament generated one of the highest grossing totals ever with a final net of over $35,000.
 
“The golf tournament is a tremendous opportunity to have so many Lobo supporters out here helping us build on the Lobo Scholarship Fund” said UNM Athletic Director Eddie Nuñez. “This is a true testament to our Lobo fans for what they do and their true support of UNM Athletics”.
 
“Being a former student-athlete here at UNM, and being in the position I am now with the Lobo Club, has allowed me to really be able to appreciate what this community does to support student-athletes here at UNM” said Dakota Cox, Associate Director of Development for the Lobo Club. “Events like these really get to showcase the care and support that this city and state has for UNM Athletics, and I am proud to be a part of it”.
