ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico women’s basketball team will honor its four seniors and look to get back on track heading into the Mountain West Tournament as the Lobos host Colorado State 7 p.m. Tuesday at Dreamstyle Arena.
Cherise Beynon, Laneah Bryan, Tesha Buck and Alex Lapeyrolerie will play their final regular-season game at home and will be honored after the game – so please stay after to celebrate their Lobo careers!

The Lobos started strong – and after falling behind – made a hard charge in the fourth quarter, but came up short and lost to UNLV 74-62 on Saturday at Cox Pavilion.
The Lobos jumped out to a 17-6 lead over the first five minutes of the game – ignited by back-to-back 3-pointers by Tesha Buck in the opening minute. But UNM was outscored 9-1 the rest of the first quarter to cut its lead to 18-15 heading into the second. UNLV went on to take a 34-24 lead before 3-pointers from Buck and Bryan helped cut the Lobos’ halftime deficit to 36-31.
The Lady Rebels opened the third quarter on a 16-2 run to push their lead to 52-33 and UNM trailed by as much as 25 points in the fourth quarter. However, UNM didn’t go away as a Cherise Beynon jumper with 6:19 left ignited a 14-0 run capped by a Beynon steal and layup with 4:03 left to make it 68-57.
Jaisa Nunn paced UNM with 17 points and 12 rebounds – going 7-for-7 from the field. Tesha Buck had 16 points, four rebounds and three assists while Beynon had 14 points, eight rebounds and five assists.
Colorado State snapped a two-game skid Saturday by defeating Nevada at home, 75-64. Annie Brady came off the bench to lead the Rams with 21 points and 10 rebounds while Hannah Tvrdy had 18 points, nine rebounds, five assists and two steals.
The Rams are one of the two best defensive teams in the Mountain West, second in the conference in points allowed at 56.4 per game and leading the MW in field goal percentage defense at 34.4 percent (4.5 percent better than No. 2 Wyoming). On the glass, Colorado State is second in defensive rebound percentage at 71.7 percent.
Hannah Tvrdy leads the team in scoring at 11.3 points per game as well as in rebounding at 6.5 per contestand steals with 30. Stine Austgulen is the Rams’ top 3-point threat as she’s 59-for-133 from beyond the arc – a clip of 44.4 percent. Grace Colaivalu is third on the team at 8.3 points per game and leads the team with 80 assists.
SERIES HISTORY
The Lobos are 40-38 all-time against Colorado State, but have dropped five straight games and eight of their last nine against the Rams. At home, UNM is 23-13 against Colorado State, though have dropped two straight at Dreamstyle Arena.
THE COACHES
The Lobos are led by head coach Mike Bradbury in his second season with UNM, his 11th season overall. Bradbury posts a career record of 213-141 and is 35-24 at the helm of the Lobos.
Colorado State is coached by Ryun Williams who is 134-55 in his sixth season with the Rams and has a 392-208 overall record as a collegiate coach.
