ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team remains home on Saturday, Jan. 27 as it takes on Colorado State at 7 p.m., looking for its third-straight win.
The Lobos (10-11, 5-3 MW) enter the game coming off of a pair of comeback victories over UNLV on the road (85-81) and SDSU at home (79-75). The Lobos are 4-1 over their last five contests.
UNM also earned its first Mountain West Player of the Week honor this week as senior Antino Jackson claimed the award. Jackson averaged 20.5 points on the week including a career-high 24 points against SDSU Saturday. He tallied 11 assists on the week and did not commit a single turnover against SDSU.
Colorado State (10-12, 3-6 MW) is riding a three-game losing streak as they arrive in Albuquerque. Their most recent loss was at SDSU on Wednesday, 97-78. Their three conference wins have come against SJSU (59-52), Utah State (84-75) and Wyoming (78-73). While they are 0-4 in conference play at home, the Rams are 3-2 on the road.

Coaches vs. Cancer Suits And Sneakers® Week (January 22-28, 2018) is a nationwide event that unites coaches across the country to raise funds and awareness about the fight against cancer, and promotes the American Cancer Society as a source of inspiration and hope for those facing cancer. While coaching games during the week, coaches wear sneakers with their game attire as a visible reminder about the importance of fighting cancer.

SERIES HISTORY
The Lobos lead the series 75-46 dating back to December 20, 1940 when the teams first faced off in Denver. Last season, UNM split the series with the Rams, claiming a road victory on Jan. 14, 84-71, before falling at home on Feb. 21, 68-56.
In the last 20 meetings, UNM has won 15 and Colorado State has claimed just five. Three of those wins have come within the last four games as UNM is 1-3 over the last four meetings between the squads.
THE COACHES
UNM head coach Paul Weir enters the game 10-11 in his first season at the helm of the Lobos, 38-17 in his career. Colorado State head coach Larry Eustachy is in his sixth season with the Rams having guided the squad to a 121-72 mark in his tenure. Eustachy 523-330 in his career.
