ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team is in search of its first road victory of the season on Wednesday as the Lobos travel to Boise State to take on the team picked to finish third in the league in the Mountain West preseason poll. The Broncos are currently receiving votes in the USA Today Coaches Poll.

Wednesday’s game will be aired live on ESPN3.

The Lobos (6-9, 1-1 MW) have claimed all six of their wins at home in Albuquerque and enter Wednesday’s game coming off of a narrow, three-point loss to defending Mountain West champion Nevada on Saturday. UNM fell 77-74.

The Broncos (12-2, 2-0 MW) are coming off of an 83-74 victory on the road at UNLV on Saturday.

Both teams come into the contest off of a road game.

SERIES HISTORY
The Lobos and the Broncos have met a total of 13 times in program history and UNM leads the series 10-3. New Mexico is 5-1 at home, 4-2 on the road and 1-0 in neutral contests vs Boise State.

UNM has swept the series in each of the last two seasons and is on a four-win streak over the Broncos. In their last meeting, UNM claimed a 78-73 victory in Albuquerque on Feb. 14. Just a month earlier, the Lobos had earned an 81-70 win on the road on Jan. 17.

THE COACHES
UNM head coach Paul Weir enters the game 6-9 in his first season at the helm of the Lobos, 34-15 in his career. Boise State is coached by Leon Rice in his eighth season. He has guided the Broncos to a 154-89 record in his career.
