ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team will take on the San Diego State Aztecs on Saturday at Dreamstyle Arena – The Pit at 5 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. Saturday’s game will mark UNM’s Domestic Violence Awareness game in which fans wearing purple can purchase $10 tickets for bench rows 1-10.

The Lobos enter Saturday’s game coming off of a big win at UNLV with just nine players. UNM (9-11, 4-3 MW) are also ranked in the top 20 nationally in six categories.

San Diego State (11-6, 3-3 MW) is coming off of a pair of key losses to Fresno State and Boise State, but have come away with some outstanding wins this season including a victory over currently ranked No. 13/14 Gonzaga earlier this season.

SERIES HISTORY
The Lobos lead the series history between the two teams 46-38 including a 28-11 advantage inside The Pit. The Lobos swept the Aztecs last season with a victory on the road on Jan. 1, 2017 (68-62) before also claiming the win when SDSU traveled to Albuqerque on March 4, 2017. UNM topped the Aztecs 64-59 on Senior Night in The Pit.

Prior to the Lobos’ last two victories, SDSU had won four straight games in the series and is a narrow 11-9 over UNM in the last 20 meetings.

THE COACHES
UNM head coach Paul Weir enters the game 9-11 in his first season at the helm of the Lobos, 37-17 in his career. The Aztecs are led by Brian Dutcher in his first season at SDSU. Dutcher is 11-6 on the season and in his career.
