Lobos Take on Colorado Mines Thursday

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s soccer team will continue exhibition play on Thursday, August 17 at the UNM Soccer Complex. The Lobos are set to take on Colorado School of Mines at 7 p.m.

UNM opened exhibition play on Saturday, August 12 against Air Force and earned a 3-1 victory in the inaugural 2017 match up. A pair of newcomers netted their first goals in front of a lively UNM crowd including freshman Nick Taylor and junior transfer Antoine Vial. In addition, veteran Sam Gleadle netted a goal in the final minute (88:59) to give the Lobos a two-goal victory margin.

UNM’s roster features 14 returning players from the 2016 squad that earned its 12th NCAA postseason appearance in the past 16 seasons. Five of those players redshirted last season and are looking to make a significiant impact in 2017.

New Mexico will host one more exhibition match on Saturday, August 19 against Grand Canyon before diving into regular-season play on Friday, August 25 on the road at Washington.
