ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico softball team will face Rio Grande Rival New Mexico State for the second time this season on Tuesday at 5 p.m. MT. It will be the finale non-conference game for the Lobos. The game will air on the Mountain West Network.

Series History
The Lobos lead the all-time series 82-61, but the Aggies have won the last six of seven meetings.
ABOUT THE LOBOS
The Lobos have had a rough go the last couple weekends. They are coming off three-straight losses to San Josè State last weekend and will look to get back on the winning track with New Mexico State. For the year, the Lobos have a posted a 20-23 record. In the Mountain West, the Lobos are currently tied with UNLV for eighth with a 6-12 record.
Shelbie Franc continues to be the offensive leader for the Lobos with a .417 batting average. She leads the team with 30 runs and is 7-for-8 in stolen bases. Jasmine Casados and Chelsea Johnson are the only other two that are hitting above .400 on the year. Casados leads the team with 38 RBIs and 56 hits with a .412 average. Johnson leads the team in home runs with six and is hitting .405.
In the circle, the Lobos have used all four pitchers at some point during the season. Krissy Fortner leads the staff with a 3.44 earned run average. She is 5-4 on the year. Tess McPherson has seen the most action in the circle. In her 27 appearances, she has a 8-11 record with a 4.54 ERA.
ABOUT THE AGGIES
New Mexico State is currently 23-22 on the year and is tied for first with Grand Canyon in the Western Athletic Conference with an 11-4 record. Since the last Rio Grande Rivalry, the Aggies have gone 14-11, including a 8-0 five-inning victory over the Lobos on March 15.
The Aggies lead the WAC in almost every offensive category. As a team, the Aggies are hitting .318, which is ranked 19th among the nation. Kelsey Horton leads the team and the WAC with a .440 average and is ranked 23rd in the nation in home runs with 14. Her .440 average ranks 19th in the nation and he .837 slugging percentage is 13th in the country.
In the circle, the Aggies rely on Kayla Green and Samaria Diaz. Green leads the squad with a 4.02 ERA and Diaz has the best record of 12-8 on the team.
LAST TIME THEY MET
The last time the two teams met, the Aggies came out on top with an 8-0 victory in five innings. The Lobos only tallied five hits and left a total of six base runners on.
