ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico women’s basketball program and head coach Mike Bradbury have added Jasmine Smith to the 2017-18 roster, the program announced this week. With her official NLI, Smith is set to be a fitting addition the talented group of Madison Washington, Antonia Anderson, N’Dea Flye and Jaedyn DeLaCerda, who signed with UNM in November.

“Jazz is an All-State player that brings a competitive edge and hunger that will continue to fuel our program,” Bradbury said. “She is a dynamic scoring guard that can really get hot, as demonstrated by this season’s 42-point outing where she made seven threes.”

Individually, Smith is highly decorated. She is a two-time All-District First Team honoree, the 2017 District MVP and a McDonald’s All-American nominee. During her high school career she earned three tournament MVP honors and was named Vype Preseason Player of the Year.

Smith will join four other outstanding signees next season including Washington, Anderson, Flye and DeLaCerda.
