Parking Information for Lobo Hoops vs. Arizona

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — It will be a busy day on Saturday afternoon at the corner of Avenida César Chavez and University Blvd.  Two events, two sports, both on national television and the national landscape.  Due to the high volume of cars, people and traffic, here is some general parking information for Saturday that will be of value to all fans, whether you are a regular at Dreamstyle Arena, or are here for your first visit to the Duke City.

The most important part of arriving on time is planning ahead and coming to the games early.  The weather should be downright balmy for December 16 with a high of 50 and mostly sunny skies, perfect for tailgating.  Please give yourselves plenty of time to arrive, and utilize both Avenida César Chavez (exit 223 off of I-25) and Gibson (exit 222 off of I-25) to enter the stadium parking areas from the south.

The events for Saturday begin officially at 2:30 p.m. as Dreamstyle Stadium will host the 12th Annual Gildan New Mexico Bowl between Colorado State and Marshall.  At 6 p.m., Dreamstyle Arena will see The University of New Mexico Lobos hosting No. 23 Arizona in the Wildcats’ first visit to Albuquerque since 1999.  However, for parking purposes, it starts well before that.

For the Gildan New Mexico Bowl, all tailgate lots will open at 8:30 a.m.  If you happen to be coming to both events and have a men’s basketball Lobo Club parking pass, those fans can use their pass to get into their perspective lot at 8:30 a.m.  Normally fans would have to wait until 4 or 4:30 p.m. when the lots open.

Due to the high volume of cars that will be in the lots when most of the fans for the men’s basketball game will arrive (as the football game should be in the second half), here are the protocols.  The TLC 1 and TLC 2 lots will be kept free of cars for the football game, and those lots will be held for fans with TLC 1 or TLC 2 passes.

For all other basketball parking passes, they will be accepted at any of the pass or paid lots.  For example, if Stadium West is full, a basketball patron with a Stadium West pass can park in any of the other pass or paid lots with the exception of TLC 1, TLC 2, Pit East (which is reserved for men’s basketball players and staff and Pit East passes) and Baseball East (which is the designated media lot for both games on Saturday).

Staff members that are working the Gildan New Mexico Bowl are encouraged to park in the CNM Velodrome lot located between the Isotopes Park and the Velodrome.  Staff working the Men’s basketball game are encouraged to park in the Gutierrez or Baseball South parking lots.
