ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team is back in action on Friday as it takes on TCU in the third round of the 2017 Emerald Coast Classic at 5 p.m. MT. Fans will be able to watch live on CBS Sports Network.

The Lobos (2-2) face the undefeated (RV) TCU Horned Frogs (4-0) on Friday before facing either Maryland or St. Bonaventure on Saturday to wrap up the Thanksgiving tournament.

UNM heads into Friday’s action with five Lobos averaging scoring in double figures including Chris McNeal (18.0), Sam Logwood (15.3), Anthony Mathis (12.5), Troy Simons (11.5) and Antino Jackson (10.5). 

Leading TCU is Vladimir Brodziansky who posts 17.3 points per game and 4.3 rebounds. He is followed by three more scoring in double digits including Desmond Bane (15.0), JD Miller (11.3) and Kouat Noi (10.8).

As a team, the Lobos are averaging 100.5 points per game and ranked third in the nation while TCU averages 89.5 points. 

SERIES HISTORY
The Lobos lead the series with TCU 16-6 including a 10-0 record in The Pit, a 4-5 record on the road and a 2-1 record at neutral sites. The last time the two teams met was on February 25, 2012 when TCU claimed an 83-64 victory in Fort Worth, Texas. Prior to that meeting, UNM had earned eight straight victories over the Horned Frogs, including one just a month earlier.

THE COACHES
UNM head coach Paul Weir enters the game 2-2 in his first season at the helm of the Lobos, 30-8 in his career. TCU is led by second-year head coach Jamie Dixon. Dixon, a 1987 graduate of TCU, is 28-15 with the Horned Frogs and 356-138 on his career (15th season).
