ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — For the third straight year, Lobo Football, in conjunction with LoboTV, will broadcast live on National Signing Day with “NLI 2017”. This year’s event will be a one-hour show starting at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 1, national signing day for college football. The hour-long show will feature highlights of all of UNM’s signing class, a look back at UNM’s record breaking 2016 season and interviews with UNM coaches.
In addition, Paul Myerberg, senior college football writer from USA Today will join the program to talk about the 2016 season. The show can be accessed via GoLobos.com, Facebook Live and the Mountain West Network, and the show will air later in the week regionally on ROOT Sports Rocky Mountain.
The 2017 NLI Show will continue the tradition of Lobo Football bringing the action to its fans. Since starting the show in 2015, UNM’s NLI show has served as a template for many league and regional schools.
“The great thing about the NLI Live 2017 show is that our fans look forward to it every year,” said Associate A.D. for Marketing and Fan Engagement Drew Ingraham. “Last year we added a way for fans to interact with the show, and we look forward to more of that interaction. It’s a great way to kickstart the 2017 season.”
For the third straight season, the show will be hosted by Assistant A.D. for Communications Frank Mercogliano, and it will take place in the Letterman’s Lounge at WisePies Arena.
Along with UNM coaches discussing the signing class of 2017, USA Today‘s Myerberg will be on the program, along with other surprises.
Lobo fans will also be able to interact with the show and have questions read on air by tweeting questions using the hashtag #LoboNLI. The official twitter account for Lobo Football @NewMexicoFB will break all recruiting news throughout the day on Feb. 1.
Interspersed throughout the show will be Lobo highlights from 2016 including UNM’s 23-20 Gildan New Mexico Bowl victory along with video and introductions of the newest members of the Lobo football program. Last season UNM went 9-4 and picked up its first division title in 19 years while winning the second-most games in school history. The 2017 home schedule features non-conference games with Abilene Christian and New Mexico State, along with conference games against Utah State, Colorado State, Air Force and UNLV.
