ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team will look for its third straight victory as it plays host to Wyoming on Saturday at 6 p.m. MT. The game will air on CBS Sports Network (Comcast 274/838 HD, Dish 158, DirecTV 221).

The Lobos are now 11-8 on the season and 4-3 in Mountain West play. They have continued their momentum, as they claimed their second straight victory on the road at Boise State Tuesday. Against the Broncos, the Lobos came out hot in the first half and built their lead to 18 going into halftime. Sam Logwood scored the last 12 points for UNM in the final 2:48 of the half.

The second half started out a little slow as the Lobos went 1-of-13 from the field in the first eight minutes. But solid free throw shooting kept the Lobos ahead and finished out the game with a final of 81-70. With the win at Boise State, the Lobos became the first team in MW history to win on the road at SDSU, CSU and Boise State.

On the season, the Lobos are shooting 47.6 percent from the field, 33.2 percent from the three and 75.7 from the foul line. Their free throw shooting percentage is first in the Mountain West and 26th among the nation.

Tim Williams continues to lead the Lobos in the scoring column at 18.4 ppg, which is second among the league behind Nevada’s Marcus Marshall. Elijah Brown is second on the team at 17.4 ppg.

But in the last two games, different guys have stepped up for the Lobos. Dane Kuiper and Damien Jefferson both finished in double-digits against CSU, while Jordan Hunter and Sam Logwood came off the bench to add double-digit numbers against Boise State.

Wyoming will be a little different look from what the Lobos have seen from the Cowboys in the past. The Cowboys are ranked sixth in the country in tempo at 76.6, which means they play at a really fast place. They are shooting 42.2 percent from the field and is second among the league in field goal defense at 39.4 percent.

Justin James comes off the bench to lead the Cowboys in scoring at 15.0 ppg. Hayden Dalton is also another threat off the bench at 12.8 ppg. Jason McManamen and Alan Herndon are the only two starters in double figures at 12.7 and 10.3 ppg, respectively.

ABOUT THE COACHES
Craig Neal is in his fourth season as head coach of the Lobos and owns a 70-46 career record at UNM. He is the first coach in MW history to win on the road at SDSU, CSU and Boise State in a single season. Allen Edwards is in his first season with Wyoming.
