New Mexico Game Notes | San Jose State Game Notes
ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The New Mexico Lobos return to the friendly confines of Branch Field at University Stadium for the first time in a month as the Lobos will take on the San Jose State University Spartans in a Homecoming matchup on what is shaping up to be a picture perfect day in Albuquerque. The game will officially kickoff at 2:08 p.m. and it will be televised on ROOT SPORTS Rocky Mountain.
Along with the usual Homecoming festivities, there are plenty of great promotions along with the game. The first 5,000 fans through the gates will receive from Lobo sunglasses, courtesy of Defined Fitness. Speaking of Defined Fitness, they are hosting Defined Fitness Day at the stadium starting at 9 a.m. Fans can pay $15 and workout with a trainer on the stadium turf, and that price also covers your game ticket. Fans who already have a ticket and want to come can do so as well. All of the information on Defined Fitness Day can be found HERE.
At the last home game, fans had the change to putchase 50-50 raffle tickets, with the money raised split between the Lobo Club and the winner. But why have one prize when you can have nine? After the winner of the 50-50 raffle is drawn, eight other tickets will be drawn, with four winning tickets getting a 43-inch SMART LED TVs from Baillio’s, and four winning tickets receiving $500 gift cards to Albertsons. For more information and details, click HERE. And if you are a student without a lot of cash for a 50-50 raffle? UNM Athletics has those folks covered as well, as students can sign up at this link: https://groupmatics.events/#/event/studentgiveaway, to enter to win one of four $500 book scholarships that we will be giving away during the second half of the game on Saturday. Students can register to win right HERE.
Of course there is a game to be played, and the Lobos, who feature the nation’s No. 6 rushing offense and No. 27 overall defense, are sitting at 1-2 overall after dropping a pair of close games on the road. San Jose State is sitting at 1-3 after defeating Portland State but losing to Iowa State, Utah and Tulsa. The Lobos are looking to exact a little bit of revenge against the Spartans after losing 31-21 last year in San Jose. Both teams are entering the contest at 0-0 in conference play as this is the conference opener for both. UNM is looking to open conference play 1-0 for the second time in two years after defeating Wyoming in the opener 38-28 last year.
