ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The University of New Mexico is now taking renewals on season tickets for 2016-17 Lobo Men’s Basketball season.
Current season ticket holders have until Aug. 4 to renew their tickets for what is expected to be an exciting season. The Lobos will play 17 games inside WisePies Arena this season, including eight games out of Mountain West play.
The nonconference home slate includes current and old rivals New Mexico State and UTEP, as well a 50 year anniversary game against Abilene Christian, the Lobos’ first opponent in The Pit.
The Lobos are returning 10 players from 2015-16, including four starters. The returning class is highlighted by Elijah Brown and Tim Williams, the only two players returning to the MW that averaged 16 points or more last season. They both earned All-MW First Team honors from the media, marking the first time the Lobos have returned multiple All-MW First Team honorees.
Four scholarship student-athletes will join a group that has represented the university well. The Lobos are coming off a record year in the classroom, finishing the 2015-16 academic year with a 3.03 team GPA.
