SYDNEY, Australia – University of New Mexico men’s basketball alumnus Cameron Bairstow has been selected to compete for Australia in the upcoming Summer Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
 


 
Bairstow is one of six players on the Australian squad that will be making his Olympic debut. Bairstow last competed with the Chicago Bulls in 2015-16, where he made 18 appearances. This summer, he organized the Battle of the Rio Grande alumni game between former Lobos and former New Mexico State Aggies, the second straight year in which he organized an alumni game in Albuquerque.
 
Bairstow is one of the most highly decorated Lobos in program history. He scored 1,239 points in his four-year career and was named a Second Team All-American by Sports Illustrated as a senior.
