INDIANAPOLIS – The University of New Mexico men’s basketball team finished 23rd in the nation in average attendance during the 2015-16 season, completing 50 straight seasons of ranking in the national top-25.

The Lobos averaged 13,030 fans per game over 16 home games in 2015-16, playing basketball in front of a total 208,492 fans inside WisePies Arena. The Lobos led the Mountain West Conference in attendance and were nearly 6,000 fans over the league’s average attendance. San Diego State ranked second in the league and 29th in the nation.

The Lobos’ attendance figures put the program in an elite class. Outside of schools from “Power 5” conferences and the Big East, the Lobos ranked second in the nation in average attendance. When extended to the top-35, only six schools fit that description, half of which are in the Mountain West.

The Lobos will look to continue its storied tradition at WisePies Arena and shoot for a 51st straight season in the top-25 in 2016-17. Check back with GoLobos.com for information leading up to the season.
