ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The University of New Mexico’s football game on September 17 at Rutgers University will now kick off at noon Eastern, 10 a.m. locally in Albuquerque, and the game will be carried on ESPN News, giving the Lobos a game during the Network’s main national window of contests.
That addition gives UNM football six games on the ESPN Family of Networks, as five others have been announced, although stations won’t be known until 12 days prior to the contest. UNM also have ESPN Family games against Air Force (in The Cotton Bowl in Dallas) on Oct. 15, at home against Nevada (Nov. 5) and Wyoming (Nov. 26), and on the road against Utah State (Nov. 12) and Colorado State (Nov. 19).
Previously announced television games were against Boise State, a Friday night Oct. 7 game on CBS Sports Network and on Thursday, September 1 when the Lobos open the season against South Dakota on ROOT Sports. Both of those games are at 7 p.m. Mountain Time.
Still to be announced for television are three Mountain West controlled games; home games vs. San Jose State (Oct. 1) and ULM (Oct. 22) and a road game at Hawai’i on (Oct. 29), along with UNM’s game at New Mexico State on September 10 in Las Cruces.
The Mountain West should have more television announcements regarding UNM’s schedule in the upcoming weeks.
