The Lobos – Manon Molle’, Ingrid Gutierrez, Alexandra Moisand, Darian Zachek, Eva Saulnier
BATON ROUGE, La. – After the final round of the 2016 NCAA Baton Rouge Regional, the Lobos finished in 16th place with a 63-over total team score of 927 (313-309-305). The Lobos will not advance to the NCAA Championships.
The top six teams advancing to the Eugene, Oregon Championships are Florida, South Carolina, Washington, Duke, Oregon, and BYU. Florida and South Carolina finished the Baton Rouge with matching scores of 857 (-7). Florida tied the single round record of -11 277 set yesterday for the post-renovation women’s college play on the University Club course, and also tied the second lowest in history of the course. Florida and South Carolina’s 54-hole total of 857 is 23 shots better than the renovation 54 hole women’s collegiate record of 880 set in 2012 by Tennessee at the LSU Golf Classic.
Finishing in third with a one-under score of 863 is Washington, followed by Duke at six-over 870, and Oregon at 18-over 882. Rounding out the top six advancers is BYU with a team score of 884 (+20).
Taking home the individual medal is Katelyn Dambaugh of South Carolina with a nine-under three round total score of 207. Florida’s Karolina Vlckova finished in second with a six-under score of 210, followed by Charlotte Thomas of Washington at 211 (-5). Dambaugh’s nine-under 207 is the lowest post-renovation 54-hole total by six shots. Karolina Vickova of Florida had a record single round of 65, topping the mark set yesterday by Dambaugh of 66.
With the top three individuals deriving from teams already qualified for the National Championships, the qualifying individuals will be Elise Bradley of LSU (T4, 213), Linnea Strom of Arizona State (T7, 215), and Leonie Harm of Houston (T7, 215).
Leading the Lobos in their final event of the season was junior, Manon Molle’ with a seven-over three-day total score of 223 (77-71-75). Molle’ shot a total of 10 birdies in three rounds of play. Darian Zachek finished tied for 51st place with a total score of 229 (+13), followed by Ingrid Gutierrez in 77th place at 236 (+20). Eva Saulnier finished tied for 85th place and Alexandra Moisand finished tied for 87th place.
With a 16th place finish, the Lobos’ 2015-16 season is now complete.
