COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. — The Mountain West has announced its Friday night national television football package, featuring nine games on Friday night and one on Thursday, and New Mexico’s home game with Boise State has been selected. That game will now move to Friday night at University Stadium, and it will kick-off at 7 p.m. nationally on CBS Sports Network.
The Lobos last season did not have a home game on a Friday night. UNM’s game at Arizona State was played on Friday night on the Pac-12 network. In 2014 the Lobos twice played home games on Friday night, facing off against Fresno State and San Diego State.
The Friday home game is the second of back-to-back home games as UNM is home against San Jose State prior to the shortened week. UNM will get an extra day before having to head to Dallas, Texas to play Air Force at the Cotton Bowl.
Overall, Boise State had five Saturday games moved to Thursday or Friday, San Diego State had three, and Air Force, San Jose State and Fresno State each had two. UNM, UNLV, Utah State and Wyoming had one each.
