ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – University of New Mexico women’s soccer head coach Heather Dyche has released her program’s spring exhibition schedule, beginning Sunday at home against Arizona at 11 a.m.

The Lobos return a large group of veterans that went 7-3-1 last season in the Mountain West Conference and ended their season on penalty kicks in the semifinals of the MW Tournament. Returners include All-MW honorees Maddie Irwin and Emily Chavez.

“We lost a lot of leadership and experience with our graduating class this fall,” said Dyche. “This spring is really an opportunity for our returning players to step up and prove themselves.  They have been working really hard and we have some high level games this spring for this team to continue to grow.  We are excited to get playing and looking forward to seeing our fans out at our spring matches.”

The Lobos have five exhibition dates on their spring schedule from March 6 to April 23. Admission to the Lobos’ three home dates will be free.

Following the team’s exhibition against the Wildcats, they will return to the pitch on April 9 to face both UTEP and West Texas A&M from 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The Lobos will travel to Colorado for a weekend in mid-April, beginning with a match at Denver on April 16 (time is TBA). On April 17 at 11 a.m., the Lobos will play at Colorado at 11 a.m.

The spring season will conclude on April 23 with a home date against both Northern Arizona and New Mexico Highlands from noon to 4 p.m.
