ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Redshirt senior Tim Williams led the University of New Mexico men’s basketball team to two wins last week, earning Mountain West Player of the Week, as announced by the Mountain West Monday morning. This is the first honor for the Lobos this season and first honor in Williams’ career.

Williams averaged 25.5 points per game and 7.5 rebounds per game. He shot 68.2 percent (15-22) from the field and 84 percent (21-25) from the foul line.

Against Houston Baptist last Monday, Williams finished with a career-high 31 points and 11 rebounds. He was 10-for-11 from the field and 11-for-12 from the free throw line. His 31 points and 11 rebounds went down as his second straight double-double on the season.
